Why I’m excited for Cyberpunk, Homeland 3, more

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer, for Saturday August 31st, 2019. thegamingobserver.com for links and a transcript. Just a reminder that this is the last Saturday that will cover news. Starting next week, I’ll be doing some kind of listener interaction, keep your ear out for more details later this week.

Why I’m excited for Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt released some more footage of Cyberpunk 2077 and I’ve gotta say it’s looking pretty good. They showcased some of the aesthetics and gameplay, and got into some nitty gritty details in a Q&A as well. While I’m personally most excited to explore the open world of the game, there’s a few other things that stood out to me here. First of all, the skills system actually looks pretty fun. There’s no classes in the game, so you can customize your character however you want. They can be incredible at both snipers and melee, or or maybe assassination and engineering. You can distribute it however you want, and if its balanced correctly, it could make for an incredibly unique experience. I am very much looking forward to what they can do with an FPS, but we’re still quite a ways away, the game releases April 16th of next year.

Homeland 3 announced

Gearbox announced today Homeworld 3. This is the series’ first game since 2003, so 16 years ago, and it’s going to be developed by Blackbird Interactive. That’s a studio that was actually founded by some of the creators of the original Homeworld, which was released in 1999. They are crowdfunding the game, though they set the target for $1 so evidently they’re just trying to get as much as they can. Now, the game is obviously still in pre-production, so it’ll still be a few years until it releases. Here’s what the devs had to say about it “Homeworld 3…will cpature the modd and tone of Homeworld and deliver it in an exactly expected and juicy, lovely way. There will be an extension of the story…and locations that…will blow some minds and resonate with existing fans and new fans alike.” If you’ve never heard of it, it’s an RTS so if that’s your genre you should have your eye on it.

Please watch the trailer for Untitled Goose Game

Alright so you should all at least watch the hilarious trailer for what’s called Untitled Goose Game. You literally play as a goose who is a big ol jerk causing chaos in a little village. You roam the streets stealing and breaking things, honking at people, and just overall being annoying to humans. Turns out that stealth is actually a big part of the gameplay as well, so it’s got a lot of things going there. It comes out September 20th on the PC and Switch, and will be $15 at launch, which will raise to $20 at some point.
