What Adrian Simple is playing

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer, and it is Sunday August 18th. @gaming_observer on Twitter, or email me info@thegamingobserver.com

Okay it is Sunday and because there weren’t any major game releases last week, let’s make this a casual one today. I would love to tell you about the video games that I’ve been playing, if you don’t mind. Just for context I’m not usually one to play the latest games to come out because I’m a student and definitely cannot afford that.

Either way I guess I’ll start this one off by saying that Titanfall 2 is 75% off. I picked up the deluxe edition myself for $10 Canadian, and good gravy is this game amazing. I mean I mostly grabbed it to have an alternative to Apex Legends because I found myself getting less and less interested the more I played. I’ve barely put a chunk into the campaign and it is already unparalleled to any FPS campaign I’ve played before. I’ve also taken a stab at the multiplayer, which was the main reason I bought the game, and I’ve had a good time. It’s fast paced without feeling out of control, and there’s a ton of customization which I always love. Either way, it definitely lives up to what people have been saying about it, and you should consider taking a stab at it.

Something I’ve been playing a little more regularly is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I have to play it in spurts because Shelby doesn’t want me playing without her, but man is it fascinating. It brought back a ton of nostalgia, the sound effects alone reminded me of playing Wind Waker as a kid. And again this is a game that I’ve put maybe 6 hours into and I can already tell it’s likely to be an all-time favourite. That is if I don’t get tired of the durability mechanics. Which actually says something because if it wasn’t as phenominal as it is, the durability would have killed me off completely. Right now I’m more interested in exploring the world and meeting the characters than worrying about the lifespan of the weapon, so hopefully it can stay that way. If we’re going to talk about the best games for exploration intrigue of all time, I’ve gotta say it’s up there. And this might change once I’ve gotten more through the game, but it’s definitely in the league of something like Subnautica and even a little bit of Minecraft. Granted I haven’t played very many space games, so maybe I should add Outer Wilds to my backlog.

Other than that I have the usual games that I play while listening to podcasts, which right now is Slay The Spire and the first Borderlands game because I’ve gone through it so many times I don’t need to hear it again. I might be interested in playing through Borderlands 2 with a team of listeners, so keep your ears open for that if you want to play with me.

Alright that’s all for today I hope you didn’t mind this little diversion. The only other thing I want to say is that I really want to create some kind of place for my listeners to connect. I’m thinking Reddit is the best place, because I already have a Patreon exclusive Discord and am not so interested in making a seperate one. So please if you have any ideas, throw them my way on Twitter and I’d love to get your input. That’ll be all for now, I’ll catch you tomorrow for the daily update, and until then, happy gaming everyone.
