Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 announced

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been announced by Paradox. Yes, the long awaited sequel has arrived, 15 years following the release of the first game. Development is being headed up by Hardsuit Labs, who is assisted by Brian Mitsoda, a writer of the original game, and Cara Ellison. Apparently Paradox wanted to sit on the IP when they acquired it in 2015, but these guys came and gave them a pitch, which sped up the whole process. The game is expected to release in 2020, on both PC and consoles. If you’d like some more nitty gritty details, I encourage you to check out the article which gets into some of the mechanics and story.

Sony “State of Play” broadcast coming March 25. Microsoft “ID@Xbox Game Pass” broadcast coming March 26.

Both Sony and Xbox have announced new online broadcasts, similar to what Nintendo does with a Nintendo Direct. Sony will be holding their first broadcast on March 25th, an event they are calling “State of Play.” Not many details on it yet. Xbox on the other hand already had a version of this called Inside Xbox, but they are now adding a show called “ID@Xbox Game Pass”. It’s a bit of a mouthful, but it is meant to be a highlight of indie games that are arriving on the Xbox Games Pass. They have mentioned Afterparty, Void Bastards, and Supermarket Shriek, but they are also promising new game announcements as well.

Stardew Valley is the best selling indie Switch title ever. Apex Legends has the best F2P launch month sales ever.

I’ve got two interesting statistics here. First is Stardew Valley being the globally best selling indie game on the Nintendo Switch. This time last year it was in 9th place, but it has bumped up the ranks. They are followed by Hollow Knight and Overcooked 2. Also, Apex Legends has achieved the best launch month ever for a free to play game, according to a site called SuperData. They estimated $92 million dollars were spent in the game’s launch month. Despite this accolade, they still came in 6th place for top grossing PC titles in February – so we’ll see where they are at a few months from now as popularity will continue to grow.

The Happy Hob beats ever souls-borne game back to back without getting hit

Just a fun tidbit here, a streamer by the name of The Happy Hob has just completed every single Soulsbourne game back to back without taking a single hit. He successfully went through Dark Souls I, II, and III, Bloodborne, and Demon Souls, all in a row, without once losing HP. Congrats to him for his dedication, and I’m sure you’ll agree with me that he is quite the talented man.
