TGO After-Show

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here and welcome back to The Gaming Observer for Tuesday, April 21st. We’ve got a few interesting stories here, so let’s get into it.

Nintendo sending more Switch stock soon

The Nintendo Switch has been out of stock around the world for quite a few weeks now, and if you happen to be one of the people trying to get your hands on it, I have some good news. It appears as though Nintendo is trying to get on top of it. They were limited because supply chains obviously got disrupted, but they’ve now gone public saying that more consoles are on the way. Not only that, but suppliers are sending out reports saying that they’re getting orders anywhere between 10 and 50% larger than usual from Nintendo. So keep patient, be dilligient, and keep an eye on your favourite stores for stock coming in.

GRIS sells 1 million units

Nomada Studio has just announced that GRIS, an indie game that got really well known for its visual style, has just hit 1 million units sold. This is a huge win for a company their size, and especially for a game style that isn’t incredibly off-the-charts popular. And I will say on a personal level, the game is incredible, you can pretty much finish it in one sitting, and the whole time you are totally capture by the aesthetic. I encourage you to take a look, that’s GRIS, G-R-I-S, it should be fairly cheap.

DOOM composer might not return to the franchise

For those of you who are fans of the DOOM Reboot, and Doom Eternal I suppose, unfortunately there’s some bad news here in regards to the soundtrack. Of course the music is a really big part of that franchise, in many cases one of the selling points of it, all thanks to the famed composer Mick Gordon. Well, it turns out that for the official soundtrack of the game, somebody else handled the mixing of the audio, and apparently it was very poorly done. To be clear, the game audio is great, it’s just the offical soundtrack that was released outside of it that is having issues. In response to this, Mr. Gordon has had a few choice words about it, and has also at one time said that he probably will not be returning to the series if another game is made. Of course we don’t know the full story, but it certainly be a sad departure for fans of the series.

My friends, you’re probably at this point of the internet talking all about Animal Crossing, but after having now spent a few days with it, I just gotta say it’s absolutely wonderful. Shelby got it for her birthday, and we’ve been having an absolute blast. It is an incredibly relaxing game while still giving you things to do and goals to achieve. And the animals are just cute. I take a few issues with the co-op, and especially the fact that we have to share an island if we’re on the same console, but otherwise we’ve been having a great time going through together and playing. So if you’ve been debating whether or not you should pick it up, let this be the nudge that pushes you there, because as long as you set your expectations beforehand and you know what the game is, you’re gonna have a great time. By the way if you want to see Shelby and I’s characters, I just tweeted it, @gaming_observer.

Alright everyone, thanks very much for joining me. I’d also like to thank Mutz for leaving me a 5-star review on Amazon. That’ll be all for today, and I’ll be back tomorrow with the news, until then, Happy Gaming Everyone
