How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer and we are back today talking about video games for Wednesday, June 3rd. My friends, I recognize that the world is chaotic right now, and I hope that this show will be able to bring you at least a little bit of comfort. Let’s get into it.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be getting its first expansion, The Isle of Armor, on June 17th. So that’s two weeks from now. This will take place in a new area, storyline, gym, and Pokemon varieties. I think there is some new legendary Pokemon as well, but that might be coming in the second expansion. Speaking of which, they’ve said that expansion #2 will be coming in the fall of this year. Very exciting to see this coming soon, obviously its a first for the franchise so we’ll see how it turns out!

Hey if you are Playstation 4 owner and and you have PS Plus, then you should definitely check out the free games that are available to you right now. I know that those games, and the ones from Xox Live, can be fairly hit and miss, but June brings something worth playing I think. First of all is Call of Duty: WWII, which I heard had a fairly decent campaign, and obviously the Zombies mode is there too, so while these games are usually multiplayer-driven, there should be something there for you. The other game, which I’d say is much bigger, is Star Wars Battlefront II. Now we know that they had a pretty significant issue with microtransactions a few years ago, but they have gone back on a lot of that stuff, and people were really enjoying it last year, so it should still hold up in 2020. Definitely try it out, I mean its free, right?

You may remember that Double Fine was recently acquired by the Xbox Game Studios, and as a result of that, their publishing division is going to be winding down. This news came our way by the developers of Gang Beasts, who had their game published by them, but will now be self-publishing. The state of that division was in question ever since the acquisition, so this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, but certainly it’s the most solid info we’ve heard so far. I believe the game Ooblets also had to do something similar. Anyway, not much else to say there, but hopefully the transition is smooth for everybody involved.

The newest FPS from Riot Games has now officially released. You’ve probably heard of it, it’s called Valorant, and it certainly made a splash in closed beta over the last month or so. If somehow you haven’t seen this game at all, it is very much a cross between Counter Strike: GO and Overwatch, and I haven’t heard any complaints about that. Usually genre mashups will get a bad rep, but in this case they pulled it off. It is free to play, so don’t hesistate to try it if you like either of those other games. If you were already playing it, the full launch brings in some new content, including a new character, map, and just a whole bunch of patch notes.

The newest game from Creative Assembly is called Total War: Troy. It’s going to be releasing on the Epic Games Store on August 13th, and what is super super cool is that the game will be free to keep for the first 24 hours. They are specifically marketing this as an opportunity for new players to try out the franchise, which I think is awesome. Obviously that’s still a ways away, so I’ll be sure to give you a reminder the day before. I’m pretty excited to see the game though, I think the battle of Troy is a really fun story, and I like to see history get played out in video games.

Alright folks, that’ll do it for today thank you so much for joining me here. I hope you are staying well, and my friends, please send your support to Black communities around the world today. Donate if you can, sign petitions if you can’t, and raise your voice regardless. That will be all for today’s show, I’ll be back tomorrow with the news, and until then…Happy Gaming Everyone.
