Four new Pokemon announcements

Nintendo held a Pokemon press conference yesterday, announcing four new Pokemon related games and services. First, a new Detective Pikachu game is being developed for the Switch, with the first one being available on the 3DS. Then, something called Pokemon Home, which is a switch and smartphone app that is almost like a universal storage system for your Pokemon, I didn’t really get it so you should look into yourself. Next is a new mobile game called Pokemon Masters, which we don’t know much about other than the fact that you’ll be battling every single trainer from all the games. And finally, the strangest of them all, Pokemon Sleep. This is a sleep tracking app that will bring you “a gameplay experience unlike any other.” How they will manage to turn our 8 hours of unconciousness into gameplay I have no idea, but I am fascinated by their ambition.

Crystal Dynamics to unveil new Avengers game at E3

I wasn’t planning on revealing any E3 announcements, cause goodness knows we’ll hear plenty about it during the event itself, I felt like this one was pretty significant. Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix, the people behind the latest Tomb Raider games, are going to be revealing a new Avengers game at E3. Definitely something to look forward to, and I think is incredibly well timed considering the great success of that franchise.

Starbreeze applies for second extension on reconstruction

Starbreeze Entertainemnt has just request a second extension on their reconstruction period with the Swedish government, which is a procedure to help them recover from insolvency. While I’m no expert in business law, it does appear as though they are putting in much bigger of an effort to not go down than other gaming companies have. They’ve sold off lots of subsidiaries, and in their quarterlies they are far more passioniate about keeping it alive than I’ve seen before. Best wishes to them, and I hope they can recover.

Death Stranding gets new trailer, releasing November 8, 2019

Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding got a new trailer today, which had some beautiful cinematics, combined with some gameplay as well. The most important thing to come out of it though is the release date, which is November 8th. Since it’s a PS4 exclusive, my guess is that they’ll be making a bundle and trying to get Christmas sales from it. I’m definitely excited for this one – Metal Gear Solid V was Kojima’s last game, and it was fantastic, so I can’t wait to see him with the Konami chains off his wrists.

That’s the news for today. Thank you so so much for tuning in, and thank you to Brandon for supporting the show through Patreon. I am Adrian Simple, see you tomorrow, and Happy Gaming everyone!
