How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here and welcome back to The Gaming Observer. It is Monday March 30th, and let’s take a look at what transpired over the weekend.

The first Nier is going to getting a remaster, of course this is the game that preceeding Nier Automata. The official title of this remaster is Nier Replicant ver 1.22474487139. Quite the mouthful. It’s going to be coming out on Playstation, Xbox, and Steam. Now the Replicant part of that title has to do with the different versions of the original game that were released to different demographics — I won’t get into the details, so suffice to say it’s a remaster of the first game, and we don’t know when its coming yet, but presumably it should be soon. Alonside that release will be a mobile game called Nier Reincarnation. We don’t anything about it besides the fact that it will be free to play, so my guess would be microtransactions will be a part of it as well.

Shantae and the Seven Sirens is officially arriving on PC and consoles on May 28th. This is the latest entry in the platforming series which was exclusive to Apple Arcade. Now on Apple Arcade, only the first part of the game was available to people when it launched, so the second half is now currently available to Arcade subscribers. Everyone else can get access to it in May, like I mentioned, for around $30. It will have a digital and a physical release.

The Resident Evil Resistance open beta was supposed to go live this past weekend, but it looks like some technical issues stopped it from working out. This is the multiplayer mode of the new Resident Evil 3 remake. The Xbox One version is doing just fine, but the PS4 and PC versions went down, and are still down as of this recording, which is about 9pm Eastern. So if you were wondering what was going on there, that would be why, Capcom said they’ll keep everyone up to date. I’d consider trying it out once its available though, the concept of a 1 vs 4 multiplayer game is always cool to me.

If you are a current or aspiring game developer, Unity has just provided three months of free access to what they call Unity Learn Premium. So a bunch of resources for game development that you normally have to pay for, there are courses, projects, tutorials, lots of to learn from there, check it out.

Alright and here are three stories related to gaming, though in other entertainment mediums. First, from Netflix, a fourth season of the animated Castlevania has been confirmed, though there are few details past that. Netflix also confirmed that they will be doing a live-action movie based on the 80’s arcade game Dragons Lair. Ryan Reynolds is apparently slated to produce and star in it, with the scriptwriters being the ones who did The Lego Movie. That’s an interesting one, Dragon’s Lair is a pretty popular one. And finally, Horizon Zero Dawn is going to be geting a comic series, co-created by one of the game’s writers. The first issues arrives on July 22nd for $4. That should be right around the time that the game comes to PC as well.

Alright thank you so much for tuning in, I hope you are well, and also thank you to Christian, EazyCheeze, and Fernando for leaving me 5-star reviews on Amazon.
