How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from thegamingobserver.com, for Friday, October 25th.

Last of Us Part II delayed to May 29

The Last of Us Part II has officially been delayed. It was only last month that the game was announced and given a release date of February 2020, which has now been pushed to May 29th. Of course I’m sure the people looking forward to this are fine to wait a few more months, because Naughty Dog is a trusted developer. People are expecting something top tier, and they’re going to get it. It is strange that this delay came so soon after the inital announcement, but if nothing else that just speaks to the complexities of developing a video game.

Ubisoft also delays a bunch of games to 2020/2021

Also in game delay news, Ubisoft has changed their plans for the upcoming year big time. Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarintine, and Watch Dogs: Legion have all been pushed to somewhere between July and December 2020. This means that they are expected way less money from this fiscal year, reducing the bookings forecast to $1.6 billion, which is about 800 million less than originally expected. This drop is also attributed to Ghost Recon Breakpoint underperforming, which is actually surprising considering how high on the charts it was. Yves Guillemot outlined where the game failed to impress, and says they’re working on improving. This means that the 2020-21 fiscal year is going to be big for them, with all of those games, plus two unknown AAA games, Just Dance and possibly Beyond Good and Evil 2.

MedEvil releases, not well received

The game MediEvil, with the focus on the evil part of that word, has a remake and it comes out today. This is a classic PlayStation 1 hack and slash which was pretty well praised. Unfortunately, the remake hasn’t been given that same luxury. Indeed, it appears as though this remake has kept a lot of the same, including its flaws. It was criticsed in 1999 for its level design, and it received that same criticism in 2019. People are also having issues with combat and the camera. Other than that they are praising the graphics and the story, but unfortuantely it seems to have missed the mark on a few things. However, if you think this is a game that you’d be interested in playing, definitely look at reviews there are people who enjoyed it.

The Outer Worlds releases, you can play it on Game Pass

Hey, The Outer Worlds also releases today and I just wanted to remind you that you do not have to purchase it outright. You could sign up for the Xbox Game Pass, where you can spend $12/month, or $6 on PC, for a swath of games, including Gears 5. And if it’s your first time, it’ll only cost $1/month. Big thanks to Gray for the reminder on that one.

Dying Light to do a crossover with Left 4 Dead 2

Wrapping us up here today is Dying Light, which will be having some kind of crossover with Left 4 Dead 2. This kinda came out of nowhere, but obviously Techland is trying to stay in the public eye right now. No details just yet but this definitely caught my eye.

That’s the news for today. Folks I will be back tomorrow, as I am every day, and until then…Happy Gaming everyone.
