Half-Life, FFVII remake, and Valorant gameplay shown off

Daily Gaming Update

TGO After-Show

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from thegamingobserver.com and welcome back to your daily gaming update for Tuesday, March 3rd. We’ve got lots of stuff from upcoming games that we can look at today, so let’s dive in.

Half-Life: Alyx gameplay shown off

Alright first of all, a bunch of new gameplay footage of Half Life: Alyx has just released, which will be coming in three weeks. If you’re a Half-Life fan then there is definitely a bunch of familiar content there. What’s really cool is being able to see all of the different things you can do within the virtual reality universe. From loading your gun, to ripping wooden planks away from a doorway, to catching a grenade in midair and throwing it back. Even just aiming down sights to get an enemy far away has become infinitely more interesting and challenging with this new platform. Heck here’s another example, you know when you’re playing a game and you want to open something, like a locker, usually just hit the A button and wait for the animation to finish? Now you just have to open that locker however you want. That’s so weird to me. Anyway, there’s also three different options in terms of how you move around the world. You can teleport, which tends to break immersion, or you can move with the thumbstick, which tends to make people a little nauseous. They’ve also provided a middle ground of the two, where you can point to where you want to be, and the character will do a quick shift towards it. Either way, the game is looking really cool, and I hope it works out.

Final Fantasy VII Remake demo released on PS4

The Final Fantasy VII remake has just had a demo drop on the Playstation 4. Now I don’t have a PS4 so I couldn’t play it, however a friend of the show Katosepe, you’ve probably heard him here before, has played it. So here is him generously sharing his thoughts with us.

Alright, big thanks to Kato for that, and he also has an Alexa Flash Briefing called Video Game of the Day, which you should check out, its very good.

More details on Riot’s “Project A”, now called Valorant

Riot Games has released details about the first person shooter they are developing, codenamed Project A, now known as Valorant. This will be a tacticial shooter, and if you watch the gameplay, it looks a whole heck of a lot like CS:GO, with a healthy mix of Overwatch. It has the purchasing system, tacticality, and competition of Counter Strike, which is reportedly the main focus of the game. However, everybody also has unique abilities, that remind you of something like a hero shooter. Nonetheless, this League of Legends developer will be entering the shooter market alongside a swath of other genres, including a fighting game, and the already released card game.

Alright, thank you very much for joining me here today. I will be back tomorrow with the news, as I am every Monday through Friday, so until then, Happy Gaming everyone.
