GTA V Casino update gets most players since release

GTA Online just released the Casino update, and it turns out that this was an extremely popular piece of content. In fact, after it released, it had the most online players in a single day and week since the game first launched in 2013. Of course this release did come among criticsm, launching in the midst of the discussions around gambling in video games, and the legality of it all. Nonetheless, the dollar signs won’t stop them now, so I’m sure you can look forward to even more stuff from them in the future.

Destiny 2 delays “Shadowkeep” release to October 1

Destiny 2 has a swath of changes coming, which were originally due for September 17th. This would be the free-to-play version of the game, as well as their newest Shadowkeep. Well, unfortunately its been delayed to October 1st. They said they need just a bit more time to work on it, which by all means, their players should understand. This is basically their first move since seperating from Activision, so I imagine they want to do it right.

Ninja signs exclusive to Mixer, doubling app’s downloads

The famous Fornite twitch streamer Ninja has officially jumped ship from Twitch, over to an exclusive deal with Microsoft’s Mixer. Normally I wouldn’t report on this sort of thing, but according to data from Sensor Tower, the app for Mixer doubled its downloads as a result. They estimated about 26,000 installs, compared the the 13,000 from the day before. So you can probably expect to see a lot more activity over there moving forward.

No Man’s Sky “Beyond” update set for August 14th. VR support!

If you’ve been looking for a reason to begin or return to No Man’s Sky, wait no longer. There is a new expansion for the game coming out called “Beyond”, and they’ve now announced its release date for August 14th. This is their seventh major update for the game, and it will include VR support, some kind of new multiplayer experience, and an unknown component. Hello Games has really worked to turn this one around and people seem to be pretty happy with it, it’s worth giving a look, especially if you’re a VR player.
