How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer and this is your daily news update for Friday, June 5th. We are closing out the week today with plenty to talk about, I’m very excited, let’s get into it.

A whole bunch of games from EA have now made their presence known on Steam. Of course most of their games on PC were exclusive to their Origin launcher, but they announced recently that a lot of their catalogue will now be heading back over. This time around we have Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Burnout Paradise, and Plants Vs Zombies, among others. More games are on their way, including Apex Legends and FIFA, but that’s all they have for now. Interestingly, they are also bringing over their subscription service EA Access to Steam, which I believe is the first of its kind occurring within Steam’s ecosystem, so we’ll see how that plays out.

Kingdoms Amalur: Reckoning is officially getting remastered. It’s apparently going to be returning with new visuals, refined gameplay, and all its DLC packaged in, so pretty typical for this type of announcement. That’s arriving on August 18th, I know a lot of people liked that game so I’m sure it’ll make a splash when it returns. Thanks to Crimson for sharing this in the Discord.

Alright so we’ve got a whole bunch of news about game expansions which I’ll just keep in one segment here. First up is Elite Dangerous, which has shared details about its next one, Odyssey. This is going to introduce on-foot traversal, allowing you to explore the planets you land on, Along with that will be combat, and social hubs so that you can team up in that combat. That’s coming some time next year. Next up is Gwent, which just introduced its fifth expansion, Master Mirror. That’ll bring a bunch of new cards and mechanics, that comes on June 30th. Path Of Exile is also getting something new, called Harvest. And essentially this one will let you begin farming a garden, except this time, you’re growing monsters. Alongside that is a bunch of gameplay tweaks, as is usual for their quarterly updates. This one arrives June 19th. And finally, Frostpunk is getting its third and final expansion called On The Edge. Not a whole lot of details, but it’ll include a new story scenario and map. That comes some time this summer, and is available individually, or in a pack with the other 2 DLC.

I’ve waiting to say this for so so long, Slay The Spire is heading to mobile devices. I haven’t talked about Slay the Spire in a while, but this is one of the best games I’ve played in the last 10 years. It’s a deckbuilding roguelike, and mobile is the perfect place for it to be. It’s coming some time this month on iOS, unfortunately Android users like myself need to wait a while longer, but as long as the port works, I’m going to be buying it day 1, it’ll be $10.

Quick heads up that The Outer Worlds is now ported and available on the Nintendo Switch. Apparently the port is good and playable, but you will see a significant graphical decrease. So take that into account, but otherwise people are happy with it.

And another quick heads up, the Epic Games Store is giving away the chaotic co-op multiplayer game Overcooked for free. This is one of the most well regarded games in the genre, unfortunately couch co-op only, though the sequel has online play.

Anyway folks, that’ll be all for today thank you very much for joining me. I’d also like to thank Heather, a very special listener, for leaving this show a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts. That’s going to be all for today, back with the news tomorrow, and until then, happy gaming everyone.
