Dragon Quest Walk announced – new mobile AR game

Square Enix is entering the pool of AR mobile games, announcing Dragon Quest Walk. They had a fun cinematic trailer which didn’t have much info, but we know that there will be quests, and there will be a personal room which can be customized. This follows the recent announcement of Minecraft Earth and of course Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, so we got lots of IP’s jumping into this.

VR game Blood and Truth tops UK physical charts – first ever to do so

The VR game Blood and Truth is a gangster shooter that has gotten pretty postitive critical reception. For one, if you have a VR headset you should definitely check it out. But the real reason I’m talking to you about it right now is because it is the first VR game to reach the top of the UK physical sales charts. Granted, there weren’t any major new releases last week, but it still managed to beat out games like FIFA 19, Days Gone, and RDR2. Which, all things considered, is a great milestone for such a niche game.

Shenmue III delayed to November 13, 2019

Shenmue III has been delayed from it’s original release of Ausust to November 19th. They say its almost ready, and just needs some time for refinements. Eurogamer notes that the delay brings it even closer to the series’ 20th birthday, with the first Shenmue releasing in December 1999.

Netflix announces Magic: The Gathering animated series. Directed by the Russo brothers.

Netflix has announced a new animated series based off of famous card game Magic: The Gathering. Not only that, but it’s going to be directed by the Russo brothers, who are most well known for directing “The Avengers”, of course. This is Netflix’s third animated series based on games, with the first two being Carmen Sandiego and Castlevania, the latter of which is an excellent yet brutal watch, I do reccomend it.

Indie spotlight: Cliff Empire

Hey I wanted to tell you about this interesting city builder that’s currently in Early Access called Cliff Empire. The concept is that Earth becomes nuculear, and the only way to survive is by living on mountain cliffs. Not only is the setting unique for the genre, but the gameplay has you several cities at once, with interaction between them being a key aspects. I know nothing of how good it is, but at first glance it seems like the type of gaming that hardcore fans of the genre would enjoy.

That’s the news for today. Thank you so so much for tuning in, and thanks to Brandon for supporting the show through Patreon. My name is Adrian Simple, see you tomorrow, and Happy Gaming everyone!
