Dragalia Lost makes records, Wolfenstein and Fire Emblem, much more

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer, it is Friday July 26th, 2019. thegamingobserver.com for links and a transcript.

Dragalia Lost becomes #2 most successful mobile game for Nintendo

Nintendo has a game called Dragalia Lost, and it just became their 2nd most successful title on mobile. This is remarkable because it released last September, so less than a year, and it’s only available in 11 markets. It overtook Animal Crossing’s $99 million mark, but still sits far behind Fire Emblem Heroes, which has $591 million in lifetime earnings. Their most popular market is Japan, followed by the United States. Nintendo’s most recent mobile release, Dr. Mario World, is currently sitting at $790,000 since its release a few weeks ago. So it still has a lot of catching up to do.

Xbox One getting a redesigned dashboard

Heads up Xbox players, it looks like Microsoft has a new dashboard for the Xbox One coming up. Their overall goal with this one is to “help users access Xbox Game Pass, Mixer, and the Microsoft Store more efficiently, while also making sure they can easily jump into their recently played titles.” Also, the voice assistant Cortana is being removed. Based on the screenshots I don’t think it looks that bad, but it isn’t anything revolutionary.

Wolfenstein Youngblood and Fire Emblem: Three Houses released

We have two major game releases today, the 26th. First is Wolfenstein: Youngblood. This is the fourth game since the franchise reboot in 2014, though it’s more of spinoff. The unique thing is that it has a co-op campaign, intended to be played through with a friend. Critic reviews are mixed to positive, but nobody is blown away, necessarily. From what I can tell, it looks like a solid entry if you’re a fan of the series, but there are some negatives that people are struggling to get past. The other game coming out is Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It’s the first Fire Emblem game to the Nintendo Switch. Critics are very happy with this one, TONS of 9/10s here, and a lot of people are calling it must-play. So take a look, regardless if you’ve played a Fire Emblem before or not.

Moonlighter and This War of Mine free to keep on EGS

If you head over to the Epic Games Store right now, you can pick up two games for completely free, Moonlighter and This War of Mine. Both are widely praised games, so I encourage you to pick them up. Next week they’re giving away Alan Wake and For Honor, which are also some high quality games.

Amazon Prime Video being discontinued on the WiiU

For any of you who are still playing on your WiiU, I’ve got some bad news. Support for Amazon Prime Video is officially cancelled starting on September 26th. I’m sure we can all bring our deepest condolences to those who were exclusively using the WiiU for their Prime Video needs.
