Jason West, Frostpunk, Anno 1800, more

How is it going everybody, Adrian Simple here from The Gaming Observer, and this is your Daily Gaming Update for April 13th, 2019. Head over to thegamingobserver.com for links and a transcript of today’s report.

Jason West hired for Epic Games last month

It has just been reported that Jason West, co-founder of both Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment, has been hired by Epic Games. He’s been there for about a month, but we don’t know much else. It’s possible he’s assisting with the storefront, with Fortnite, or just something we know nothing about. He left Respawn back in 2013 to spend time with his family, and I’m not sure if he did anything between then and now, but I certainly can’t find it if he did.

Frostpunk headed to consoles this summer

11 Bit Studios has just announced that Frostpunk will be making its way to consoles this summer. It originally released on PC last year to great success. The Xbox One and PS4 edition is being tuned to be better suitable for those platforms, with certain re-designs and mechanics being adjusted. All free content that’s been released on PC to this point will be provided alongside it.

Before Monday release, Anno 1800 gets public weekend beta

Ahead of its launch on Monday, Anno 1800 is now holding an open beta weekend. This is a city building strategy series that has quite the deep history, with the first game released in 1998. You can get access through the Epic Games Store or uPlay, and will be launching in full for $60 American dollars.

Disney+ heading to consoles upon release

Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, will be making it’s way to consoles upon release. The service will features tonnes of content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, etc., and will be available in November. They’ve secured a deal with PlayStation thus far, with Switch and Xbox One presumably to follow.
