1 Year Anniversary Celebration | Now Available on Google Home!

How’s it going everybody, Adrian Simple here and today we’re taking a diversion from the dailyt updates to celebrate the one year anniversary of The Gaming Observer, how exciting is that! I’ve got some things to reflect on as well as an exciting announcement, so let’s get into this. Thegamingobserver.com, gaming_observer on Twitter.

Folks, it’s been 365 days since I started this shindig, and holy moly is that ever strange to think about. Truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for listening, thank you for your support, and thank you for everything. This journey has been extraordinary and I cannot even fathom how far this little project has gone since last year. Never in a million years did I expect to get close to 300 Amazon reviews and thousands of listeners a day, let alone the people on Patreon who actually want to give me money for it. You know, I dreamed to be a Youtuber when I was a kid, and while this isn’t exactly the same thing, it’s even better. Being able to do this has literally been a dream come true, and even if it all ended tomorrow, I would be so happy with how it turned out.

So with that said, we need to look to the future. There are a lot of things that have been brewing for a long time, and today I finally get to reveal one of those things. The Gaming Observer is now fully available on Google Home devices. This means that I can be introduced to a whole new audience that has never heard me before. If you know someone who might like my content and has a Google device themselves, it would seriously mean so much to me if you could let them know about my show. Additionally, perhaps if you have a device yourself, maybe leave a review on the Google Assistant directory to give it a bit of kickstart. In order to tune in, all you have to say is “talk to The Gaming Observer”. Make sure you say “talk to” and not “open” or “launch”, because Google is pretty specific about how they want things activated. That being said, you can very easily input this into your routines so that you never have to specifically say it again.

On top of my availability on new smart devices, I’ve been invited to speak at the Project Voice conference in Tenneesee next January, and I’m closing the show of a flash briefing webinar happening in October. You’ll hear more about that stuff as it comes up, but the fact that I’ve been invited to those things is just so awesome. There’s a lot more in the works, which have unfortunately been in the works for a long time, but I promise more will come eventually. Stay tuned.

As we close up the show, there’s a few people I’d like to thank. First, to my better half, Shelby, for allowing me to sacrifice every one of our evenings in order to put out these updates. Next, to  my Patreon supporters – there’s the guys on the Discord; Ben, Kato, Brandon, Creater and Danny. As well as Billy, Jim, Julian, Luis, Mo, Todd, and Zach. Thanks to all of you for covering the monthly costs of producing this show, and supporting my will to build a business. I’d also like to thank Bradley Metrock for inviting me to his events, and the team over at Voiceflow who has literally the best customer support I’ve ever seen, helping me build my presence on Google. Lastly, to any of you who work in the industry and have reached out to say hi or otherwise helped me out, your support is incredibly humbling and to know that you get value from my show is something that means a lot to me.

I could keep going with the thanks, but this briefing is running long. So instead, I’ll say thanks to all of you. For supporting me every day. For the emails that you sent me, and the tweets, and the Youtube comments. It means way more than you know, and trust me when I say that this is only the beginning for Adrian Simple. This audio is going to stay up for the next couple of days because I have a work opportunity this weekend. That being said, I’ll be back in full force on Monday, where Amazon Prime Day will be beginning, and we can probably expect a swath of new listeners. I’ll be back soon, and until then….Happy Gaming everyone.
